OPTIONS FOR FAMILIES:
First option... The TEMPORARY department is child care provide on an as needed basis... This is based on a 4 hour minimum.
Second option... The PERMANENT Placement. The family provides a detailed job description, lists expectations, in an application and a nanny is matched to your needs.
OUR NANNIES:
1. All must have their clearances. Clearances from the PA State Police Department proving there isnt any criminal history and also a Clearance from ChildLine proving there isnt any form of Child Abuse in the applicants past. If a nanny has moved from another state she must not only provide a ChildLine Clearance from the state of former residence but also have a Clearance by the F.B.I. where fingerprints of applicant are taken and searched. Rent A Mom does NOT accept any applicants from other countries.
2. All applicants must have a minimum of 2 years professional child care experience.
3. All applicants must list 3 professional child care references that can be contacted by phone and questioned in detail regarding the applicant. NO FAMILY MEMBERS are allowed to be a reference.
4. The applicant may seem like the most wonderful nanny on paper but if we're not approving of the applicant in person... she's not accepted and referred to our client families. We are very selective and we will not tollerate excessive / inappropriate piercings, excessive perfume, visible tattoos, smokers, and the applicant must be wearing proper attire.
PA State does not require child care representatives/professionals to have CPR and First Aid Certifications but many of our nannies have earned these certifications on their own and copies of same are on file with Rent A Mom. A family can also request a potential hire to have an applicant apply for these certifications and/or a refresher course be taken.
PRICING:
Our rates haven't changed since 2005 and are based on competitive comparisons and also may be higher depending if the nanny is requested for a temporary assignment - the rates are based on 1-2 children and up. The permanent rate depends on the nannies years of experience, education, certifications versus the families needs, expectations, job description.
A representative of Rent A Mom will go over all applications received from families and/or nannies to make sure all is understood if not... clarification given, and agreed upon prior to assignments.
PAYMENT:
* The service portion can be paid via VISA, MasterCard, Discover Cards, or a seperate check of the nanny.
* The nannies portion can be paid with either Cash or Check (for local families)
* Tips to the nannies are allowed and appreciated very much!
Hotel guests using our service need to pay cash to the nanny and reimburse parking expenses for the time frame the nanny is expected to arrive until the assignment is complete per day.
Rent A Moms portion has to be paid via VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card which is provided at the time of making a reservation for child care.
* Cards are not charged until the assignment is complete (usually not until the beginning of the week).
Notification is made by the nanny to Rent A Mom with the hours shes worked (the time scheduled to arrive until the time the assignment is complete) after that time the card provided will be charged accordingly and an automatic email is sent to the cardholder by the merchant service.
